Mission and Identity
St. Paul Anglican Mission invites all to “worship, grow, and serve” in a space where reverence meets renewal. Rooted in Scripture and tradition, the church centers its life around the Sacraments — especially Holy Communion — offering a place of welcome, clarity, and sacred beauty. Jurisdictional Timeline-Early Affiliation and Global Ties Prior to 2016, St. Paul was affiliated with PEARUSA, a missionary district of the Anglican Church of Rwanda. This relationship reflected the church’s global Anglican ties and its commitment to biblical orthodoxy, liturgical reverence, and spiritual renewal.
Transition to the Gulf Atlantic Diocese
Following the dissolution of PEARUSA in 2016, St. Paul was received into the Gulf Atlantic Diocese of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA). This period marked nearly a decade of ministry within a regional diocesan structure, during which the church continued to center its life around the Sacraments—especially Holy Communion—as the heart of its worship and identity.
In October 2025, the Gulf Atlantic Diocese formally disaffiliated from St. Paul, citing demographic shifts and the mission’s small size as no longer aligning with the diocese’s strategic focus. Despite this administrative change, St. Paul remained steadfast in its sacramental rhythm and pastoral mission.
Reception into the JAFC
On October 18, 2025, St. Paul Anglican Mission came under the Jurisdiction of the Armed Forces and Chaplaincy (JAFC). The JAFC supports Anglican ministry in specialized contexts, including chaplaincy and mission churches. The JAFC provides episcopal oversight for St. Paul through The Right Rev. Derek Jones. This transition marked a new season of stability, clarity, and renewed pastoral care. Strong Historical Anglican Roots of January 1, 2026, we have become a parish residing in the Anglican Reformed Catholic Church (ARCC). This new province is a step into our long historical Anglican tradition. As part of the ARCC we will hold strong to our Anglican traditions and formularies. We are and always have been a sacramental church. We are biblically rooted, sacramentally strong and always faithful to the teachings of Christ. To find out who the ARCC is, you can get more information at The ARCC.org.
Pastoral Leadership
• The Rev. Tracy Roberts served as Rector until his retirement, guiding the church with pastoral care and liturgical depth.
• From 2021 to 2024, St. Paul continued with Deacon Sheryll Qualls assisted by visiting clergy to sustain worship and sacramental life, ensuring continuity in its liturgical and pastoral rhythm.
• In October 2025, The Rev. Canon Bates Richmond was appointed Vicar, bringing renewed stability and spiritual leadership to St. Paul Anglican.
