What is an Anglican?

Anglicans are, first and foremost, committed to the Bible. We believe the Bible is God's holy Word written and contains all things necessary for salvation. The Bible is the final authority and unchangeable standard for Christian faith and life. Anglicanism traces its heritage back to the Church of the British Isles (the word "Anglican" comes from "English"). Simply put, an Anglican is a Christian who worships God within the long tradition of English and Celtic Christianity; a tradition that stretches back to the early years following Christ's death and resurrection. Today, this Anglican expression of Christianity has grown into an international communion of about 85 million members in more than 165 countries. Anglicanism is the third-largest Christian communion in the world, after the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches. The Anglican Communion is united by our common profession of Jesus Christ, our shared faith in Scripture, our common confession in the creeds and councils of the early Church, and our common worship.

Who are we?

In response to changing theological views and shifting cultural values, St. Paul Anglican Church began gathering at this location, reaffirming our steadfast commitment to biblical authority and the enduring richness of Anglican worship. Following the retirement of our rector, we have continued to worship faithfully with the support of visiting clergy. As of October 2025, we are blessed to have joined the Jurisdiction of Armed Forces and Chaplaincy (JAFC) community under the pastoral care of The Right Reverend Derek Jones. Bishop Jones has appointed The Rev. Canon Bates Richmond as our new Vicar, who will lead services every other Sunday.
